Our Vision

A world where everyone is treated with dignity and respect

A world where we all have an equal chance to take part and succeed

Our vision embodies the fair and equal treatment of citizens through a series of well defined, targeted measurable programmes which deliver on the ground actions around equality practices, capacity building, knowledge transfer, audit and accreditation

Our vision is to support the challenging social cohesion, equality and diversity mission through the Embrace Equality Standard. By delivering equality of opportunity to the individual in employment and through fair service delivery.

Through the processes and built-in transparency of the Equality Standard, the Embrace vision is to assist in the elimination of corruption.

To address tribalism and marginalisation, helping governments to demonstrate that they recognise and embrace the diversity of their population and ensure equality of opportunity for every citizen.

Our approach is based on the philosophy and legislation of nations. However, legislation alone does not change people’s behaviour. It might give some form of legal redress but it does nothing to change a person’s attitudes, or indeed those of an organisation.

It is therefore imperative that these legal provisions are translated into a common reality within the public service.

We aim to achieve a national equality vision and a common and consistent application of interpretation and practice through the Equality Standard.

Our vision embodies the fair and equal treatment of citizens through a series of programmes, which deliver equality practices, capacity building, knowledge transfer, audit and accreditation.

We strive to embed equality working practices in employment, and service delivery across national government structures. In line with equality benchmarks, to reward achievement for public institutions and personnel through certification, accreditation and awards, and to record progress on a National Equality Register.

Our vision is to build confidence in the nation’s social cohesion programme; by demonstrating fairness and integrity in the equal treatment of citizens.
